Aries: The Three of Cups
Your theme for 2008: More joy!
The Three of Cups is the card of joy and merriment.  Drawing the party card as your theme, it suggests that there
are good times ahead: good friends, good music, big laughs, and probably free-flowing wine.  This is a receptive
environment - instead of running around chasing ambitions, this card suggests kicking back and enjoying love ties
and nurturing connections.  Female friends will feature prominently and provide both entertainment and support.
The caution inherent here calls you to guard against too much drunkeness and careless revelry.  Free love isn't
always free, if you know what I mean.  Don't lose your head while you fill your heart.  Keep your celebration rooted
in gratitude and you'll stay on the light side of bliss.
Taurus: The Three of Wands
Your theme for 2008: Recognition!
This year finds you watching your ship come in.  This card says that you have put energy and action behind your
dreams, and now you get to see return on your efforts.  You won't reap the full reward immediately, but you will
see proof that your ideas are in motion, and that your goals are closer to manifestation.  Each week, your station
will improve and you will probably be surprised at where you are at years end.   You can see that there is a place in
the world for you, and there is a market for your goods and ideas.  Your audience is expanding, so much so that
you may have to move to a larger theatre (shop, warehouse, etc).
Gemini: The Lovers
Your theme for 2008: Uniting with true partners!
It would be easy to assume that this card means you are in for some hot times.  But really, the Lovers card is about
making choices in relationships.  Different people (and different associations) bring out different aspects and
qualities in us.  Although Geminis are notorious for their networking skills and are adapt at making friends with
everyone, this year finds you more discriminating.  This year you will be consciously allaying yourself with the
people and groups that bring out the best in you, and those that allow you to bring out the best in others. There's a
balance to be found when negotiating your needs with other's needs.  You maybe surprised at the things your are
willing to take on (and willing to let go of) to strengthen bonds and ties.  This year, you will chase the win-win.
Cancer: The Four of Cups
Your theme for 2008: Listening to your heart!
Sometimes we get so caught up in the floating along on the day to day that we end up somewhere we hadn't
intended on going.  This year you may wake surprised to discover that where you are at isn't exactly where you
want to be.  But where did you want to go?  And what will it take to get there?  The Four of Cups encourages you to
slow down and tune in.  It's not a time to worry about what everyone else expects, its
your journey.  Listening to
yourself sounds like a no-brainer...but for some of us, it's actually quite challenging.  Some of us are so good at
tuning in to others needs that we are deaf to our own needs.  Take classes, get therapy, read new authors, travel to
new vistas.  Plug in to you - you don't know what you've been missing!
Leo: The Page of Swords
Your theme for 2008: Making connections!
This Page says that this is your year to make all kinds of connections.  Networking is a big part of this year - you will
certainly be expanding your spheres of influence.  This will impact you in all sorts of ways - this opens you up to
new friends, new business connections and even new loves!  But not only does this energy work externally, there is
another way this Sword influence works: in your brain!  You will be gleaning information from numerous sources
and distilling it into a useful philosophy.  If there was ever a time to explore a new idea or give voice to a new
philosophy, this is it.  Write about it (this energy is GREAT for writers), talk about it, share your unique viewpoint.
You have a stunning contribution to make, you just need to give it wings.
Virgo: The Knight of Pentacles
Your theme for 2008: Taking charge of your money!
This is the year to be proactive about your finances.  You are now equipped to take charge in the financial arena.
You've done your research and scouted the battlefield, now it's time to put all of that planning into action. You
know how to make little changes that improve your fiscal bottom line.  Those little changes give you a boost, and
later allow you to make even bigger changes.  It's not an overnight process, but rather, a step by step one.  You
may be surprised at years end - impressed even.  And these changes you are making, even the belt tightening
ones, are creating such an atmosphere of stability and power that other areas of your life blossom.  Anything that
provides stability and comfort will be reaped by this Knight in 2008.
Libra: The Seven of Cups
Your theme for 2008: Options, options, options.
This New Year it may seem as though there are a slew of opportunities available for you  - a few different ways to
go - but the reality is that only a couple of them are viable.  From your Cornucopia of Maybes, some of those
choices are going to disappear like vapor when you try to grab on to them.  You might have to try a couple of paths
before you find the right one.  The good news, though, is that there is a right one for you.  The fun news - because
life is an adventure - is that it probably won't be the first one you try.  Or here's another way to think of this year: a
night at a Tapas bar.  You'll get to sample lots of pretty little appetizers, and while individually none of these items
make a meal, by the evening's (year's) end you feel sated indeed.
Scorpio: The Star
Your theme for 2008: The light at the end of the tunnel!
That theme description assumes that you've been in a dark tunnel.  Not delightful, but if you are like any of my
dear Scorpy chums, it may well be a pretty good metaphor.
The Star, though, is inspiration, hope, guidance.  This
year you are moving towards the light.  (And not in that Poltergist kind of way, in that circumstances improving sort
of way).  This is a green light for you.  If you have been looking for a path, praying for a little help...you are going to
find it, get on it, and start traveling
towards the life you had imagined in uncommon hours as Thoureau says..  Something
will appear to recharge your faith, you'll get your star to follow.  It might take a little time for the magic to appear in
your life, you know, in three dimensions, but this is the year to get back on track.
Sagittarius: The Hermit
Your theme for 2008: Creating space for wisdom.
You have made so many stunning changes in the last year that it's time to process everything that's shifted.  There
is much that you have learned that is sitting in the well of your subconscious.  This year you will start drawing from
that well to bring the wisdom up into your conscious being.  The Hermit calls you to acknowledge your inner
wisdom and encourages you to create an environment that facilitates this process.  If you don't want to withdraw
to a mountain cave, there are other options.  What about creating a private office or a meditation space?  What
about a sabbatical?  A long yoga retreat?  Carve out time and find a private space to bring forth your inner
processing.  This is good mojo for writers, by the way.  Have you turned your master's thesis into a manuscript yet?
Capricorn: The Ace of Cups
Your theme for 2008: Being a love channel...
The Ace of Cups augurs a new emotional cycle, a time when real gains can be made with regard to your emotional
fulfillment.  Specifically, the Ace of Cups often refers to finding fulfillment in relationships, often of the romantic
variety.  Nice, huh?  If you are single and don't want to be, this is an awfully good sign for you - especially if you are
ready and willing to take risks.  If you are in a relationship, you'll be working on it - getting quite good.  This also
works on your relationship with the divine.  This is the year to deepen that connection, too.  2008 is the year to gain
real sweetness, true satisfaction, and deep fulfillment from all the ties you nurture.   Remember what the Beatles
said:
the love you take is equal to the love you make.  Be a giver and a receiver.  Be open and reach out.
Aquarius: The Hanged Man
Your theme for 2008: Embracing your inner weirdo!
You know you are a weirdo, but you don't always honor your unconventional impulses.  It's okay - most people
prefer to appear normal.  But this year you are being called to look at things in a new light.  That's right, instead of
rose-colored glasses, it's time to put on your Elton John glasses.   The Hanged Man is the chance to experience a
new way of looking at a situation, a chance to try a new way of understanding.  In this case, the new approach is a
deeper approach.  It's about seeing things from every point of view.  You will find more information, gain more
insight, you will be encouraged to try new routes and new feelings and new philosophies.  You may be surprised at
your capacity for compassion once you step out of your comfort zone.  You may shock your loved ones with your
shifting values.   This year may cause you to amend your course.
Pisces: The Nine of Pentacles
Your theme for 2008: Luxuriating in your many gifts, mmmmm...
This card is so cushy.  Even if you aren't made of money, this is a very comfortable year.  You have built a life that
fits you well.  You've trimmed out the taxing stuff and connected with stuff you really dig.  Feel free to smell the
roses.  It's okay to feel alright.  This year you will be counting your blessings and this sense of gratitude attracts
even more gifts.  By the way, you are chock full of talents.  This card suggests an ability to go into business for
yourself, or perhaps a chance to be in the spotlight.  Are you ready for your close-up?  If you have been waiting for
your "big break" - this is a good year for it!  Be true to yourself and to your gratitude.  This year your best chance
for success is in cultivating that sense of stability and comfort and carrying it with you everywhere you go.
