Aries: The Seven of Cups
Your theme for 2010: Options, options, options...
Aries is typically the "leap before looking" sign - immediately following an impulse, always sure that forward is the
go.  This card recommends a different way to approach life: hold back and fantasize about every juicy alternative.
From your Cornucopia of Maybes, some choices may going to disappear like vapor when you try to grab on to
them.  You might have to try a couple of paths before you find the right one.  The good news, though, is that there
is a right one for you.  The fun news - because you enjoy an adventure - is that it probably won't be the first one
you try.  Instead of barreling ahead, try finding the backway in, a secret path.  Or here's another way to think of
this year: a night at a Tapas bar.  You'll get to sample lots of pretty little appetizers, and while individually none of
these items make a meal, by the evening's (or year's) end you feel sated indeed.  This card is calling you to expand
your experience by trying the things your never normally notice in your race to the goal.  Let experimentation be
the goal instead.
Taurus: The Hierophant
Your theme for 2010: Go Old School!
The Hierophant is a master teacher, transmitter of traditional wisdom, the keeper of conservative social values.  It
is his job to remind folks of things like:
treat others the way you want to be treated and all things in moderation and beauty
is in the eye of the beholder
.  You know, the stuff that After School Specials were made of (for us children of the 70s -
80's, anyway.)  Now the Hierophant is calling on you to express old-school ideas or make 1950's choices.  It may not
seem cool, but that's because nowadays people get confused between fundamental values and Fundamentalism -
there is a big difference.  This year, you can be a leader (or a poster child, if you like) in reminding folks about true
values...and you don't even have to bully, just be your radiant self.  In a world overly concerned with Tweets and
other instant-but-shallow connections, the best way to stand out is to trust that what really matters is the soul
behind the stuff.
Gemini: The Page of Cups
Your theme for 2010: Bonding with true partners!
Pages bring new information to absorb and assimilate, they tell us a new learning cycle has begun.  This year is all
about learning how to make stronger, deeper, more productive connections with others.  Often this card comes up
when it's time to take a romantic relationship to the next level - especially if you are single.  If you are already in a
love relationship, you'll be working on it and getting quite good at it.  But this mojo isn't just for love bonds, you
could also use it to your benefit in the business sphere, with your agent or your boss or work team - client ties can
be improved under this influence too.  But don't stop there, this learning cycle also works on your relationship with
the divine.  2010 is the year to gain real sweetness, true satisfaction, and deep fulfillment from all the ties you
nurture.   Practice being a giver
and a receiver.  Be open and reach out.
Cancer: The Two of Swords
Your theme for 2010: It's all about choices...
Indecision is telling you something.  Often, when we have a hard time making a decision, it's because we don't
have enough information about our options to choose one over the other.  Or, sometimes we can't decide because
we just don't know what we want...and we don't know what we really want because we don't know who we really
are.  If your personal boundaries are shifting or sliding, honor it.  But if you are trying hard to feel good about living
up to "Shoulds" or "Oughts" or anyone else's expectation of who you are, this is the year to give that up.  Let go of
any obligation to make everyone else happy and get clear on the facts.  Do what you need to do to in order to feel
good about moving forward with whichever path you choose.  That might mean making choices that aren't popular.
Embrace the thought that you can't please all of the people all of the time, so you might as well get used to the
idea of pleasing yourself.
Leo: The Four of Wands
Your theme for 2010: Make a display of yourself!
This is a delicious card, especially for Leos.  It's all about public displays of commitment and recognition of Who
You Are and Who You Create With and What Brings You Joy.  I know a lot of actors, and this card often comes up
as an opening night situation when they finally get to share their great ensemble work with a receptive and
enthusiastic audience...and follow it up with a glorious, decadent and slightly wicked party.  For non-actors, it can
be a wedding.  Or an engagement party.  Or your bellydancing debut.  Or your graduation from boot camp.
Whatever it is, even if you aren't getting a diamond ring at the end of it, this is the year to put yourself (and your
loves and talents and efforts) on display.  The world needs your inspiring genius as much as you need the
validation.
Virgo: The Lovers
Your theme for 2010: Uniting with true partners!
It would be easy to assume that this card means you are in for some hot times.  But really, the Lovers card is about
making choices in relationships.  Different people (and different associations) bring out different aspects and
qualities in us.  Virgos tend to seek perfection and are notorious for really high standards (or, sometimes, being so
good at finding what's wrong about a situation that they fail to see what is
right.)  If you can suspend the search for
perfection, you will find yourself connecting with the people and groups that bring out the best in you, and that
allow you to bring out the best in others. There's a balance to be found when negotiating your needs with other's
needs.  You maybe surprised at the things your are willing to take on (and willing to let go of) to strengthen bonds
and ties.  This year, chase the win-win.
Libra: The World
Your theme for 2010: You've come a long way, baby!
The image on many versions of this card is of a figure doing a victory dance surrounded by a laurel (victory)
wreath.  So, yes, it's about winning.  It's about seeing a cycle successfully to it's conclusion, it's about passing the
final test.  But with endings come new beginnings, so this is one of those change-of-life cards.  It comes up when
someone is graduating high school and now has to make his own way in the world, or when a young woman gives
birth and becomes a mother.  It comes up when everything you were is now changed and there is no going back.
No fear, Libra dear, the World card acknowledges how far you have come and how much you have learned.  It
promises that experience comes with you as you cross the threshold into your new life.  You aren't starting from
scratch, you are starting from wisdom and consciousness.  But you are starting powerfully altering year that
should leave you in a complete new role by it's end - and you'll be so ready for it.
Scorpio: The Eight of Wands
Your theme for 2010: What you want wants you.
It's coming for you.  Make sure the cell phone is charged and the fax machine is plugged in.  Lots of new
opportunities are coming your way this year, and you don't want to miss a single invitation.  Really, the stuff that
inspires you and feeds your passion is coming and it is coming fast.  It's coming so fast, in fact, that if you aren't
ready to hop on, it could sail right past you.  This is in response to all the legwork you've done, all the questions you
asked and forms you filled out and the calls you have made.  You were wondering when you were going to get
yours?  Have you been feeling like you've been spinning your wheels forever?  That you've made a fool of yourself
taking too many risks with no return?  This year is going to change all of that.  It's coming for you.
Sagittarius: The Six of Wands
Your theme for 2010: You'll show them!
Had you given up on relishing the good opinion of others?  It's a little crass, but if you admit it you know that you
want them to be impressed.  And of late, maybe your life has left you wanting the right kind of notoriety (you may
have had a little of the wrong kind.)  Boy, you are going to love this year.  This card is the red carpet walk.  This is
the victory march.  It usually comes up when your talents are recognized in some way - by booking a gig, winning
an award, receiving a write-up in the paper, or something like that.  Often there's a creative angle to it, like winning
the lead in the community theatre play. You'll feel like this is the homecoming parade and you are the Queen (or
King, if you insist.)  Luckily you aren't the gloating kind...but you and I know that you are so totally
due.  (Congrats!)
Capricorn: The Knight of Wands
Your theme for 2010: Just go for it.
You don't have to be a bully to get your way, but you do have to take clear and positive action.  This card is all
about enthusiastically taking risks, so do try to find the joy in this, Cappy.  Forward momentum is a good thing, and
you deserve some progress, don't you?  Yes.  Yes you do.  It's forward march for you.   Wands are about being
inspired and letting your dreams carry you to the next level.  You know what you want to feel good, so go for it.
The coolest thing is and it may not register with you, but you will be inspiring others along the way.  Let yourself
want, let yourself trust, believe it is yours, let yourself hunt it down.  And for heaven's sake, don't expect pristine
perfection.  Make yourself revel in the awesome even if your capture ends up being slightly less than ideal.
Aquarius: The Ace of Swords
Your theme for 2010: Use your words.
You are not generally shy about speaking up, but sometimes you aren't really heard, do you know what I mean?  A
big part of communicating effectively is knowing your audience and tailoring your message so that it lands.  Of
course, that requires listening well so you know where your opponent (friend, coworker, neighbor, mate?) stands
on the issue.  Also required here is the ability to recognize a different viewpoint from your own  And finally,
sometimes, every now and again, you get the opportunity to change your mind and/or learn something new.  This
year is about finding successful ways to share information, so much so that doors will really open for you and
progress will come from these new tacts...especially when you listen fiercely and allow yourself to expand your
philosophical horizons.  (When you learn something new, you are going to want to share it, and that starts the
cycle all over again, each time.  Pass it on!)
Pisces: The Five of Pentacles (Reversed)
Your theme for 2010: Get out of Jail Free Card!
Okay, by now you know me well enough to know I speak mostly in metaphor - this is not actually a get out of jail
free card.  This is a "Go to the Correct Agency to Clear Up a Long-standing Obstacle" card.  Basically, this card
reversed shows up when you cannot possibly solve a quandary on your own and you have come to the realization
that A) you need help, B) you should
ask for help and C) you should ask the right people for help.  Now, this is a Big
Thing - not only asking for help but going to a useful source for help.  This is not usually your MO, which is why
hinky little situations can snowball into King Kamehameha hinky for you sometimes.  But this whole responsibility
kick is really going to get some mojo going for you, and by years end you are going to see improvements on a few
different fronts - mostly with regard to money and your financial stability.  Whew!!!
