About those pesky disclaimers and policies and boundaries...
Bohemian Path Tarot
Realistic Expectations
It's a blessing and an honor that most clients seem to feel pretty darn good after a reading with me -
even after those readings when I have to give them not-so-great news.  But believe it or not, I don't live up
to everyone's expectations, so let's clear up some misperceptions...

I don't give predictions, I provide options.
The Tarot does not speak in finalities.  It is all about choices.  More than that, it requires you to take responsibility to
encourage the changes you wish to see in your life.  Sometimes you have to change limiting thought patterns, sometimes you
are advised to take more direct action, sometimes you are going to have to be more patient, sometimes you have to ask for
help while other times you are advised to find your own individual strength.  You aren't going to hear a list to predictions from
me.  I am going to tell you where the Tarot suggests you are
working well with the available energies towards your goals and
where you are
tripping yourself up (and what you can do about it).  Please don't book a reading with me if you aren't ready to
be responsible for your own evolution.

I am an intuitive counsel, not a psychic.
In essence, the Tarot describes energy flow.  Each card represents a general process (mental, emotional, financial,
inspirational) and whether the flow is positive and moving...or not.  How each card is specifically affecting an individual is
something unique to each client at the time of the reading.  The Justice card, for example, is generally about laws and fairness,
but may speak to a divorce settlement in a taxi driver's reading, a career path in law enforcement for a college student or to
making amends for a former addict starting a 12 Step program.  I have to ask probing questions or speak in generalities until
we determine exactly
in what context that flow is appearing in your life.  That doesn't make me a bad psychic, that makes
your average Tarot reader.  I require your participation in the process - it's a dialogue.  If you are expecting me to list off
predictions as specifically tailored to your exact situation as if I were reading your diary, you are going to be disappointed.  And
the more you try to test me on that, the more vague and muddy your reading will be.  This process really requires an
optimistic heart and an open mind for the best results.  If you can't suspend your critical mind and play in love and light and
gratitude...it really won't work.  It's a little like falling in love - when it's done right you'll feel giddy and vulnerable at the same
time but only when you to surrender to it.  Forcing the flow, making demands or withholding will destroy it.  Please only book a
reading with me if you can suspend judgement for an hour and can joyful follow where the flow will take us.

I have to charge for my time, whether you like the message or not.
It's a risk, booking a reader.  But I have provided a lot information on this site that demonstrates my style and my
philosophies.
I am exactly like this in person.  Your reading with me will be a little bit sweet, a little bit sassy, and pretty
down-to-earth about making new choices in your life.  If you have a specific agenda, narrow expectations, suspicion or
trepidation...stop right now.  Save us both the wasted time and needless frustration.  Honestly, most people dig me, but I do
not jive with rigid, control-freaky types because readings cannot be micro-managed.  (Unfortunately, most rigid types don't
even know they are rigid - they are convinced they are right, right, right and the rest of us are terribly, terribly disappointing.)
But if you do make the leap into meeting me for a reading, please honor my time and effort, even if the message doesn't match
your ideal.

I have to charge for my time, no matter how sad your story or how long you've been a fan of the free
Tarotscopes.
Come on, now.
I am a regular girl who spends her free time maintaining a website while still holding down a regular job and a regular life in a
regular apartment complex that charges regular rent.  The Tarotscopes are free - I don't charge a penny and I don't make a
penny.  I have 2,500 regular readers each week and 2,499 of them have never even made so much as a $1 donation.  And
that's fine, the Tarotscopes are a labor of love.  But don't push it.  If you want more from me, you'll have to pony up.

Property taxes and rentals in Los Angeles are exorbitant, yet I am affordable...
While I can occasionally offer readings and classes in a rental space, often the amount of clients/students I am scheduling does
not allow for that sort of overhead.  I regularly meet clients for one-on-one readings at a cozy coffee shop in Hollywood, Silver
Lake,  or Studio City; often my tarot classes are hosted at a private residence by one of my students.  This allows me to keep
your service affordable, but it isn't ideal for everyone.  It does not allow for the sort of woo-woo ambiance that some clients
expect, your reading/class with me is much more down-to-earth.  If that is not something you can enjoy, wait until my next
psychic fair or public appearance and get in line.  If
that is not something you can enjoy, I can't help you.  Find a nice lady with
the giant neon palm in the front window of her house - she's got a $10 special you know, or she'll name the price it will take to
tell you exactly what you want hear.

(FYI - I post upcoming public events and appearances on the
News page.)

Think of the Tarot like a map.
Maybe your dream destination is just around the bend, or maybe you need to replot your course.
Or maybe you're not sure if you want to go to that place anymore.

The map won't tell you if you "should" or "shouldn't" go to that destination
or precisely how long it will take you
(especially if you are good at getting lost on the back roads or taking long siestas at the rest stops.)

But our reading will illustrate which parts of your life are on point and which areas are off the grid.
You will receive advice on changes you can make to better align with your chosen trajectory
and/or tips for dealing with roadblocks, detours, dead-ends, traveling companions and crazy locals.

It's not about the destination, it's about the journey.

If you'd rather hear a pretty story about how all of your dreams come right to your doorstep without any
effort on your part, if you expect a long laundry list of awesome predictions...
please find a nice lady with a big neon palm in her window.

Come with an open mind and an open heart
and trust that the message on the table will guide you towards the epiphany you seek.
Change begins within you.
If you consult the Tarot hoping to hear about a change to your circumstances,
don't be surprised when the Tarot advises you to make a change yourself!
